Two bars in Makati could have their permits revoked after over their reported operations even as the city is under modified enhanced community quarantine.
According to Chino Gaston’s “24 Oras” report, authorities said one of the bars was at a building which had a “renovation” sign and a blue tarpaulin which covered its facade in an apparent attempt to keep its operation secret.
Operators of the both establishments made their customers enter back entrances.
On top of this, Police Colonel Harold Depositar, Makati police chief, said bar operators have their own security personnel to warn them about the movements of law enforcers in the area.
“They have a very organized security mechanism in place. They employ security in plain clothes, wandering around the streets of Poblacion,” Depositar said.
Over 130 people, including foreigners, were fined for violation of curfew and social distancing, Depositar said.
The two bars, meanwhile, were shut down while their permits could be revoked for operating amid the strict lockdown. –Consuelo Marquez/NB, GMA News
