2 children missing in Caloocan fire found dead

Two children who were reported missing in the fire that hit a residential area in Caloocan City early Thursday morning were found dead, Allan Gatus reported over Super Radyo’s DZBB.

The children were trapped inside the house and their remains were found in a corner near the window.

The victims were identified as Jovina Jurado, 7 years old, and her sister two-year-old Briza Jurado.

It was also reported that the children’s mother, Mina dela Pena, was inconsolable after learning about their fate.

There were several houses affected by the fire along Ylang-Ylang Street, Barangay 185 in North Caloocan.

In the report of Darlene Cay on Unang Balita, the firefighters had a difficult time putting the fire under control because of the narrow streets.

The fire also spread quickly as most of the houses were made of light materials. It took two hours before the fire was out under control. — BAP, GMA News
