Movie theaters set to re-open in Tagbilaran City under Alert Level 2

TAGBILARAN CITY-  Movie houses in Tagbilaran City are set to re-open on Wednesday, Nov. 10, more than one year after the COVID-19 pandemic hit the country.

The entire Bohol province has been placed under Alert Level 2, which allows establishments such as restaurant dine-in, beauty salons to accommodate more customers.

Churches can now accommodate more people or up to 50 percent capacity.

Cyril Laway, 23, was one of those who was excited for the reopening of a movie house in one of the malls in Tagbilaran City.

“Taud-taud na sab wala ko katan-aw og sine na [It has been a while since I last watched a movie in a theater],” he said.

Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall, are among eight theaters outside Metro Manila that are allowed to resume operations.

The BQ Cinema also announced it will  re-open its doors soon “to give you the same experience you loved, made safer.”

Cinemas in Cebu, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, and other cities in the Visayas and Mindanao are not yet permitted to operate as of this posting.

Outside the Screenville Cinemas, the list of “safety protocols” was placed as guide for moviegoers.

The safety protocols include a  moviegoer must be fully vaccinated and must present the vaccination card at the ticket booth.

The moviegoer must undergo temperature check and spray hands with alcohol upon entry, wear mask at all times; and also wear a face shield but he or she can remove it only when the screening starts.

Eating of any kind of foods or snacks is strictly prohibited inside the cinema, and only bottled water is allowed.

A moviegoer must observe physical distancing by sitting one seat apart. — BAP, GMA News
