Suspect killed in CamSur buy-bust op –police

A drug suspect was killed in a buy-bust operation in Nabua, Camarines Sur, on Monday, police said Tuesday.

The PNP Police Regional Office 5 (PRO V) identified the suspect as Bienvenido Dinsing Jr., allegedly a high-value priority target and a member of a big-time drug syndicate.

The operation was conducted around 3 a.m. Police said Dinsing received P450,000 in exchange for a plastic bag containing 150 grams of suspected shabu.

Sometime during the operation, the target sensed he was dealing with an undercover operative.

The police said Dinsing was killed after he fought it out with the operatives.

“The police fought back resulting in several gunshot wounds on the suspect who was later on declared dead by the medical team from the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office,” the PRO V said in a statement.

Seized from the suspect were a 9mm pistol, several fired empty shells, a black Toyota Vios, and several identification cards, among others.

The operatives also recovered 1,150 grams of suspected illegal drugs with an estimated value of P7,800,000.00.

Police said Dinsing was tagged “as an armed and dangerous personality for his involvement in a series of illegal drug transactions in the Camarines Sur, Naga City, Legazpi City, Tabaco City, and Albay.”

Before the operation, the suspect was a subject of a month-long surveillance, the police added.  —Giselle Ombay/KBK, GMA News
