A rejected suitor allegedly raped and stabbed to death a 19-year-old in an apartment in Cainta, Rizal, Emil Sumangil reported Monday on “24 Oras.”
Victim Christine Avila was found dead inside the rental space on December 5. A medico-legal examination determined she was stabbed in various parts of the body and possibly raped.
Pati ngipin niya tanggal ‘yung isa,” Evangeline Abbot, the victim’s mother, said.
(She had a lot of stab wounds, even on her genitals. Even to her sides and ears. One of her teeth fell off.)
An initial investigation showed that on the afternoon of December 4, Avila visited her female friend at the apartment.
Witnesses heard screams coming from the apartment. Hours later, they saw the victim’s friend and two other men leaving the apartment.
Recovered from the crime scene was a backpack containing an identification card of a certain Khalid Sanip — the victim’s alleged suitor whom she rejected.
Sinaktan niya ang biktima,” said Cainta chief-of-police Police Lieutenant Colonel Ruben Piquero.
(Maybe they had a commotion, and she fought back. The suspect might have thought it might get him in trouble, so he stabbed and hurt the victim.)
Piquero said they filed rape with homicide charges against the suspect. As for the other two individuals, he said they would be witnesses to the crime.
(They will be one of the witnesses. But if there’s a conspiracy, we will file appropriate charges.)
For their part, the victim’s family cried for justice over her death.
(It’s hard to lose a child. Please help us expedite her case. She will be laid to rest on Thursday, but nothing is happening to her case.)
GMA News reached out to Avila’s friend and her companion, but they had yet to respond as of press time. — Sunday Mae Locus/DVM, GMA News
