The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Special Task Force is acting on a complaint against suspects responsible for 4,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses allocated for a city’s vaccination program that remain unaccounted for.
According to John Consulta’s “24 Oras” report, a city health officer raised concern over the vaccine doses that could not be traced.
He said a certain company is willing to donate money in exchange for said jabs.
“Sa pagkakatanong sa akin ng kumpanya kung magkano, so nagulat ako. May nakausap na sila na nagsabing magbibigay sila ng donasyon sa amount na kung anong gustong ibibigay,” the city health officer known as “Doc” said.
(A company is asking me how much are the vaccines. I found that they talked to someone who is willing to give them donated vaccines.)
A medical personnel, who is also a witness to the incident, shared that the vaccines are being given to VIPs.
“Kadalasan AstraZeneca at Sinovac. (Mostly AstraZeneca and Sinovac),” the witness known as Jenny said.
According to the NBI, it is illegal for private companies to give monetary donations in exchange for vaccines.
NBI STF chief Attorney Bernard Dela Cruz vowed that they will hunt down these individuals over unlawful distribution of vaccines.
As of posting, the NBI refused to disclose the concerned city while investigation is pending.—Consuelo Marquez/LDF, GMA News
