Cops nab illegal carpool drivers, passengers crossing checkpoints in Zambales

Police arrested drivers who are crossing the border of Zambales despite not being included in the list of authorized personnel out of residence (APOR).

Based on Marisol Abdurahman’s “24 Oras” report, Police Colonel Roman Cardiño said the carpool drivers are being paid by random civilians to pretend that they are relatives to pass through checkpoints.

Carpool drivers also pretend that they are APOR and that they are residents of Zambales, said Cardiño.

He also warned that the virus might spread since passengers are not following social distancing.

“Iniingatan po kasi baka sila magdala ng virus sa Zambales o sa Manila kung saan man sila papunta,” he added.

The carpool drivers are already under custody of Zambales police.
