DOH: 1,858 new COVID-19 cases bring active tally to 19,176

The Philippines recorded 1,858 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, November 13, even as the positivity rate declined in the previous week, the Department of Health (DOH) reported.

The new additional cases brought the country’s active cases to 19,176, and the total caseload to 4,018,253.

There were 346 new recoveries, bringing total recoveries to 3,934,690.

The five new deaths brought the total COVID-19 deaths to 64,387 deaths.

The National Capital Region (NCR) posted most of the cases in the past two weeks with 2,849, followed by Region IVA or Calabarzon with 1,685, Region VI or Western Visayas with 1,367, and Region III or Central Luzon with 1,011, and Region VII or Central Visayas with 915.

Broken down in terms of provinces or cities, with 667 recorded in Davao del Sur, Quezon City with 648, Cavite with 579, Laguna with 464, and Iloilo with 430.

The positivity rate for the past week covering November 6 to 12 was recorded 10.4%, lower than the 11.3% seen in the previous week.

In terms of testing, there were 12,120 samples collected and 11,634 individuals tested on Saturday, November 12, with a cumulative positive rate of 13.8%.

As of last Friday, November 11, the country recorded a bed occupancy rate of 24.4% as 577 of the 2,799 intensive care unit (ICU) beds, and 6,363 of the 25,667 non-ICU beds were occupied. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
