SC says 91.90% of examinees completed second day of 2022 Bar

Nearly 92% of the total examinees attended the second day of the Bar examinations for the year, data released by the Supreme Court (SC) over the weekend revealed.

According to the SC Public Information Office, only 9,196 out of the 10,006 registered examinees were present during the afternoon session of the exams on Sunday, November 13, 2022, reflecting an attendance rate of 91.90%.

This is lower than the 9,198 or 91.92% recorded on Sunday morning, and the 9,207 candidates or 92.01% turnout during the first day last Wednesday, November 9.

There were 810 absent examinees during Sunday’s afternoon session, with the highest recorded in the Ateneo de Manila University testing center with 302 absentees.

This was followed by the University of Cebu-Banilad with 81, the Ateneo de Davao University with 74, the Saint Louis University with 54, the University of the Philippines-Bonifacio Global City with 44, and the University of San Carlos with 38.

Absentees were also reported in the De La Salle Lipa testing center with 33, De La Salle University and Dr. V. Orestes Romualdez Education Foundation each with 32, the University of Nueva Caceres with 26, the Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan with 24, and the Manila Adventist College with 19.

The Sunday exams covered Criminal and Commercial Law, to be followed by Civil Law on November 16, and Remedial Law and Legal ethics on November 20.

The SC earlier said that examinees who are unable to take the Bar exams due to Severe Tropical Storm Paeng (international name: Nalgae) may apply for a refund of their fees.

Paeng left the country with 121 fatalities and 33 missing, and some P2.86-billion worth of damage and losses to the local agriculture industry. — BM, GMA Integrated News
