US Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Daniel Kritenbrink will be in the Philippines this week for a bilateral strategic dialogue, according to the US State Department on Tuesday.
Kritenbrink will participate in the 10th US-Philippines Bilateral Strategic Dialogue during his visit to the country from January 18 to 21.
He will be accompanied by delegation co-chair Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Lindsey Ford to meet Philippine diplomatic and defense counterparts.
The dialogue will highlight the strength of the US and Philippines alliance, focusing on areas of mutual interest including maintaining a free and open Indo-Pacific, addressing global challenges, enhancing bilateral and regional economic cooperation, and strengthening the people-to-people ties, the US State Department said.
Kritenbrink will also meet with local civil society leaders and speak with students about US foreign policy in the region, and take part in efforts to demonstrate the US’ commitment to develop quality digital infrastructure in the country, it added.
